Procurement Process Overview
The GEPF procurement process is guided by the principles of fairness, transparency, and delivering value for money. Tenders are conducted through a competitive bidding process to promote inclusivity and equitable opportunities. The acquisition management process, which invites suppliers to submit bids, mandates strict adherence to procurement thresholds and specifications, ensuring all submissions are evaluated impartially by the Bid Committees. All open tenders/RFPs are advertised on the GEPF website and other appropriate platforms to maximize participation. Proposals are evaluated using a 70/30 preference point system, which balances price and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) compliance. Bid documents are thoroughly reviewed for compliance, and successful bids are awarded based on responsiveness and evaluation criteria. To promote efficiency, GEPF maintains a panel of pre-approved suppliers for recurring needs, ensuring quicker turnaround times and cost-effective procurement processes. These preferred suppliers are also selected through the GEPF tender process. Companies interested in partnering with GEPF or seeking more information on the procurement process are encouraged to email tender@gepf.co.za for assistance.
